In your first session, we will review and complete a consent form, confidentiality form and client information form. These forms are available on my website. It is helpful to read through them before your first session.
After reviewing these forms together, we will talk more about your concerns. Through this process, we will likely explore many areas of your life. We will begin to identify a goal for our work together.
At this point, I will share more about my approach - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy - and the way it can help you reach your goals. I will introduce information and a new skill to help you move toward your goal. I will ask you to complete homework before our next session.
In the sessions that follow, we will begin by talking about recent events in your life. We will review homework from the previous session. Then, I'll introduce new information and skills to help you work toward your goals.
Collectively, the information, skills and homework completed from one session to another will help you build the skills to reach your goals. Along the way, I'll check-in with you for feedback to ensure we're moving in the right direction.
