In your first session, we will review and complete a consent form, confidentiality form and client information form. These forms are available on this website. It is helpful to read through them before your first session.
After reviewing these forms together, we will talk more about your concerns. Through this process, we will likely explore many areas of your life (e.g., family history, medical history, relationships...etc.). We will begin to identify some recurring unhelpful patterns and develop a focus for our work together.
At this point, I will share more about my approach and the way it can help you break free from these patterns to reach your goals. Then, I will introduce an exercise and ask you to complete some homework before our next session.
In the sessions that follow, we will begin by talking about recent events in your life. We will review homework from the previous session. Then, I'll introduce new information and exercises to help you work toward your goals.
Accumulatively, the information, exercises and homework completed from one session to another will help you acquire the skills to reach your goals. Along the way, I'll check-in with you for feedback to ensure we're moving in the right direction.
